Kruschev did many politial and economic reforms as leader of the USSR. He was also know for de-Stalinization, reforms that removed Stalin's cult of personality, which Gorbachev advocated for. Nikita Kruschev influenced Gorbachev because Kruschev's ideas of large economic reforms, impleting westernized ideas, and de thawing of Cold War were used and followed by Gorbachev when he was the Leader of USSR

Yuri Andropov was the third to last leader of the USSR. Although he was leader for one year he advocated for the withdrawel of the Soviet Afghan War, Anti-corruption, Economic reforms, and limiting the amount of alchohol. Andropov was the mentor of Gorbachev and helped him rise up the polital ranks. Some of Andropov's policies were used by Gorbachev when he was the leader of the USSR.

Vladimir Lenin was a Russian Communist Revolutionary and the first Leader of the USSR. He developed the Soviet Union and created Marxism-Leninism, socialist ideas with russian ideas. Many ideas including Marxism-Lenism were used by Gorbachev. Also, without Lenin the USSR wouldn't exist and Gorbachev could not have been the leader of the USSR.

Gorbachev was the last General Secretary of the USSR. He is well known for ending the Soviet-Afghan War and the Cold War, policies of glasnost and perestroika, leading the USSR from a Communist state to a socialist and then a democratic state, he also led to many countries in East Europe into democracies, and desolution of the USSR.
